Opeyemi Famakinwa

A New Jersey native and Nigerian-America, Opeyemi Famakinwa is passionate about community engagement and the amplification of minority stories. Having worked in TV Development, Production (audio, digital, and physical), and Event Planning, as well as having a mixed educational background in Chemistry, Communication, and Project Management, Opeyemi understands the necessary skills needed to bridge worlds and highlight and uplift diverse narratives.

In addition to various other production projects, Opeyemi is a producer of the 2019 Student Academy Award winning documentary, SANKOFA, and co-producer for the short bio film, HER VOICE: CHARLAYNE HUNTER-GAULT, which is currently in the festival circuit. Taking her work beyond the screen, Opeyemi’s involved in voice acting, as well as events and programming for individuals and community groups around Los Angeles. On her off time, she enjoys cooking, reading, and finding new adventures to go on.
